I am …

father of a little daughter and philanthropist. For a long time, I have also dealt with international politics and the big questions of our society in my studies. I always had the feeling that I was only a spectator, but never a shaper. At Volt I very quickly found many interesting opportunities to get involved. Within a year I went from observer to democratically elected representative in a local parliament, the Mainz city council.

Volt convinces me because …

because you find a lot of energy, motivation and community here. I can actively participate in shaping my city and my Europe. Volt gives me the opportunity to leave my daughter a world different from the one I found.

My vision for Europe is ...

a political community that preserves the achievements of democracy and protects people from the great threats of our time. Independent courts, free media, protection from state surveillance and the freedom to be who you are are are not a matter of course worldwide, nor in some European countries. Only together can we in Europe meet the challenges posed by climate change and the increasing technological development of our living environment. This requires a genuine European democracy, which is more than just a community of national interests.

My goals for Mainz are ...

to create a new transport policy (car-free inner cities) for an active contribution to climate protection and new democratic participation opportunities (citizens' budget).
